Who I am
This website, murshidul.com, is the personal portfolio of Murshidul Hasan, a performance and demand-generation marketer based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit the site, how it is used, and the choices you have.
What information is collected
Analytics data. This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), deployed through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, the approximate geographic region derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, and interactions like clicks and scrolls. GA4 uses cookies and similar identifiers to distinguish visitors. IP addresses are not logged or stored by GA4; Google derives coarse location data and then discards the IP.
Contact form and email. If you use the contact form on the home page, the details you enter (your name, email address, company, message and budget range) are stored in this site’s WordPress database and sent to me by email. If you email me directly at murshidul@murshidul.com, I receive the information you include in your message. In both cases I use it only to respond to you.
Server logs. Like most websites, the hosting infrastructure may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
What is not collected
This site does not run advertising, does not sell or rent personal information to anyone, and does not use analytics data to build advertising profiles. No payment information is collected anywhere on the site.
Cookies
Cookies set by this site are limited to a consent cookie that remembers your cookie-banner choice, and Google Analytics measurement cookies (for example, _ga and related identifiers). You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics entirely using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site remains fully usable with cookies disabled.
How your information is used
Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand which content is useful and to improve the site. Email correspondence is used solely to reply to your inquiry. I do not send marketing or bulk email from this site, consistent with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Third parties
Analytics data is processed by Google LLC under its own terms. You can read how Google handles data in its Privacy Policy and its overview of how Google uses data from partner sites. Google may process data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States.
Data retention
Google Analytics event data for this site is retained for the standard GA4 retention window, after which it is automatically deleted. Email correspondence and contact form submissions are kept only as long as needed to handle the conversation.
Your rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) — and, if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR — you have the right to ask what personal information I hold about you, to request a correction, or to request deletion. Because this site collects very little identifiable information, in most cases the only personal data I hold is any email or contact form message you have sent me. To make a request, email murshidul@murshidul.com and I will respond within 30 days.
Children’s privacy
This site is a professional portfolio and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If the site’s data practices change — for example, if a contact form or newsletter is added — this policy will be updated and the date at the top revised.
